Gibside Stables Learning and Discovery Centre is situated in the heart of the National Trust’s Gibside estate on the outskirts of Gateshead. The bunkhouse style residential centre is available for groups wishing to book a unique and private space for one night or more.
The Stables is a 250 year old building that has recently been refurbished offering shared dormitory style heated accommodation, with separate leaders rooms, activity room, self catering kitchen (or additional full catering options), separate bathrooms and has disabled access (lift).
Guests can stay in the Centre and explore Gibside’s 600acre landscape forest garden with majestic woodlands, parkland and riverside and discover a variety of historic buildings and ruins. The estate is being restored to its 18th Century glory when it was home to the Bowes-Lyon family. They can also use the Stables as a base to explore the rest of the region as Gibside is situated in close proximity and within easy access of many of our other local and regional visitor attractions (such as Baltic, The Sage, the historic city of Durham, the Northumberland Coastline & Beamish Museum)
